University

This is where you study! This is where you are when you attend lectures and seminars, take exams, get involved in university politics, or join a university group. This is where you get lost every time your tutorial is held in a new room.

The University of Konstanz can be very confusing —- and not just architecturally. There is a wide range of services available that you can use in any situation. The university provides you with all the information you need; it’s just hard to find.

Perhaps the computer science student council can help you out.

University Politics

The Student Council

Hey, that’s us… well, you… I mean, all of us! The computer science student council consists of all computer science students at the University of Konstanz. However, some students meet regularly for student council meetings and refer to themselves as the active student council or simply the student council.

This is us — the active student council! We are your voice, which means we represent the students in our department in committees, councils, and boards. In addition, we do our best to make studying a little easier for our fellow students.
We are the link between students and teachers. If you have any questions about your studies, we are happy to help.

The Student Council Conference (FSK)

In the Student Council Conference representatives of each student council meet and discuss all things studies:

Lehramt Biologie Chemie Finanzmathematik Informatik Mathematik Physik Psychologie Geschichte LitLing Philosophie Soziologie Sportwissenschaften Jura Politik- & Verwaltungswissenschaft Wirtschaftswissenschaften

They represent students in all matters directly related to teaching and research. To this end, they draft statements on examination regulations, the use of tuition fees, and proposals for appointments to university committees.

The Student Representation

Since 2013, there has been a constituted student body again—which is actually still quite new.

The student representation, or StuVe for short, includes the student councils and the student council conference (FSK), but also the student parliament (StuPa), the general student committee (AStA), and, of course, the StuVe chair.
The FSK and the StuPa are, in a sense, sister committees. For example, they each appoint a StuVe chair, who is confirmed by the other.
